Good day,
I'm facing a problem here - I use the dstv.com.ini which worked well for a while. Lately, I noticed that the EPG is out by some margin. Playing around with different timezones did not help. I use Africa/Johannesburg as timezone, as I live in Pretoria, South Africa.
Further investigation proved that the EPG is out by exactly 24 hours. I compared my EPG's to the DSTV Guide (guide.dstv.com) - shows/movies scheduled on DSTV Guide now, is in my EPG tomorrow. So this means, my EPG is 24 ahead?
Example:
DSTV Guide:
Wed, 8 July 2020 | 21:10 - SuperSport 1 - Premier Leage: Brighton v Liverpool
My EPG:
Thu, 9 July 2020 | 21:10 - SuperSport 1 - Premier Leage: Brighton v Liverpool
Now, I tested by creating a new EPG with the dstv.co.za.E.ini file - this updated from https://dstv.co.za/guide (but lacks all the nice show/movie information) - anyway, the show/movie/sport times populated correctly (right on time!). So, there must then be a problem with the DSTV Guide (guide.dstv.com) OR the dstv.com.ini
Can I please ask for assistance in this regard to get the issue resolved?
A big "Thank You" in advance!
Apologies!
I now had a good look at both my downloaded EPG and DStv Guide -
Seems like my EPG current shows is 24 behind... this is really weird!
The current show on my EPG is exactly 24 earlier/back on DStv Guide...

So, somehwere there's a glitch from the last update of WebGrab+, because the EPG used to work correctly before I updated....... or something changed on the DStv.com site?
Please help a brother out!?
Had the same issue. Someone told me that that the first line in the ini should read be this:
site {url=dstv.com|timezone=UTC|maxdays=13|cultureinfo=en-ZA|charset=UTF-8|titlematchfactor=90|allowlastdayoverflow|firstshow=now}
Then you have to start fresh, run a Service provider & Channels grab with it and run the actual Guide grab with it.
FYI if you want to whats the important part about your siter {xx} line its firstshow=now.
when webgrab starts processing the programs it assumes the first show is from today unless you tell it otherwise(i wont go into that).
for this site it always starts with a few programs from the day before so by adding the above webgrab will skip all shows until it detects a date change(past midnight).
without this it thinks these few programs from before midnight are for today so it puts todays shows as tomorrow hence why the epg is out 24 hrs.
Hi jhr1948 / Blackbear,
Thank you for clearing that up! Makes perfect sense... drove me nuts until I actually figured out the guide is out by 24 hours. Couldn't set the timezone back 24 hours, as WG+ won't allow me to :)
My dstv.com.ini has this in the first line:
site {url=dstv.com|timezone=UTC|maxdays=13|cultureinfo=en|charset=UTF-8|titlematchfactor=90}
so I now changed it to -
site {url=dstv.com|timezone=UTC|maxdays=13|cultureinfo=en-ZA|charset=UTF-8|titlematchfactor=90|allowlastdayoverflow|firstshow=now}
Thanks a million guys!!!
I have a problem where its 2 hours late. i have change the timezone to (UTC+02:00 ;UTC ;Africa/Johannesburg)
I have play around with the timezone even change the time on my server to see if it will help but it still grab the same time every time. I am from South Africa.
