TV show id in tv guide

I use Webgrab quite some time now and I think I configured my webgrab.config.xml about 5 years ago and it worked so I never had the need to look into it.
I switched from Recording with Mosaic TV to Emby and therefore I needed to make some changes where I need some help with.

I use Emby for my recordings and in order to get that working most optimal they advise me to have tv show id the guide data.

So I have updated to the latest version 3.16 and became a donator. All is working with the changes I have made to the webgrab.config file but at the end of the process I have 3 files. A TVGuide.xml file with guide data, a mdb.xml file and a second Guide.xml file.
I thought that at the end of the process the two guide.xml files should be merged somehow but I have the feeling this doesn't go too well. In the end in both guide.xml files there is now TV Show id present.

1. Are my config files configured well enough?
2. How do I get the needed TV show id in my guide?
3. Which of the 2 guide.xml files should be used in Emby for importing the guide?

Thanks.

Edit: I asked at the Emby forum for an example of what should be in the guide to get the tv show id

This is their answer.

There isn't really a standard. It's mostly a situation of we see what providers are doing and try to adapt to it. One example we've seen and added support for is:

series-id system="imdb">xxx /series-id
series-id system="tvdb">xxx /series-id
series-id system="tmdb">xxx /series-id

Don't know about emby, your "merged guide" looks pretty ok. Based on the info you like you can "fine tune" your guide, i also would add in search site themoviedb.org.bing and themoviedb.org.bing.series (set proper language in site.ini)

So Guide.xml is the merged file?

This file has less info than the first created TVGuide.xml.
See this example in the attachments.
Why has this merged guide less info?

I showed this merged file on the Emby forum and they tell it doesn't have the tv show id info.
What do I need to add to my mdb.config to get these tv show id?

you need to better configure mdb.config.xml, have a look to the attached documented config

I did read this a few times before and today again but I can't find what I need to add in or leave out the mdb.config file.
In the MDB.xml I see "showid" but putting a line in the mdb.config like this doesn't work.
showid 'mdb-showid' /showid

I also don't get why with some shows in the original guide there is show info and in the merged guide there isn't. See the images as an example of many others.
So if anyone can tell what I need to add or remove from my mdb.config file I can put it to bed. I have been busy with it for days now and I don't understand what to do.

Thanks.

Hi Heula, there is a PM for you related to this issue.

Regarding your effort to use the mdb postprocessor , I will do some test with the material you uploaded.

A few answers that maybe make things more clear:
MDB creates a new xmltv file in which mdb data is added and if needed existing xmltv data is removed or moved to other xmltv elements. That is the file you specify in mdb.config and that is the file that must be used for Emby. In your case that is gids.xml
The reason that this mdb data cannot be merged in the source xmltv 'tvgids.xml' file is that changing that file will mess with the grabbing of following days.

Mdb makes another xml file, in which mdb data is stored , that will be used for following mdb runs. It saves grabbing from IMDb of shows that were already grabbed before.

Regarding Emby .. the suggestion to add the show-id and episode-id in a 'non standard' xmltv series-id element is not possible with the mdb postprocessor. WebGrabPlus only follows the xmltv specification. An alternative is to user the review element for it,

Thanks for the info and the help.

I have told Pascal what I ment and maybe he does understand it.
I'm trying some changes to the mdb.config file each time to see what happens. I thought I had something yesterday but now I won't get it right anymore.
I'll keep doing that until I am satisfied with it unless you come up with something that works sooner.

What I do see is that a lot of Dutch tv shows are not recognized with an id while the show is there on thetvdb and imdb for example. Goede tijden, slechte tijden is one of these examples but there are probably more.

Thanks again for the help and please let me know if you need anything from to work with.

For further understanding of how a series data can be obtained from IMDb:
For that it needs at least a title plus either a sub-title (= episode title) or a episode-num. With only title and without sub-title or episode-num there is no way for the matching algoritm to know which episode it is.
Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden from RTL 4 , doesn't fulfil these requirements. So no match in series.
