Evening All,
Has anyone been facing a problem today with TvGuide.com Grab?
Keep getting the remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.
Cheers

Same issue here. Don't know if they blocked grabbing or something else.
Hope someone has some info about that.
Hi facted,
For chanels like NBC, ABC, etc... I use locatetv.com (available on the EPG Channels page here). It will just need some adjustment like you did when you first used tvguide.com.ini.
Locatetv.com is not as fast as tvguide.com and you'll find it making several retries for each channel, specially at hours of day when a lot of connection are made to the site. The best time I found until now is 2PM Eastern Time (i use an automated task scheduler to make webgrab run automatically at this time)
I hope Jan (WGMaker) tells us what's going on with the site.
Yes I am also using locate for the time being but even that is coming up with so many errors , either something has changed or they are trying to block grabbing.
I am grabbing around 60 channels from the us so a long time to grab.
Missing programs: Can you give an example? Channel, day, showtitle?

Mine grab everything not had a problem with locate other then it is slow, but tv guide seems to have the problem. Has anyone got it working? Please post. Thanks as it seems that some people can connect while others can't.
I confirm the issue is still the same: 403 forbidden.
If anybody solved it, please give us your solution.
Thanks.
Thank you gau8, yes that fix worked for me now. Great job.
Nice trick! Of course you loose some details (cast).
Let me explain about that useragent issue:
When a site disallows grabbing by means of a robots.txt file (and guide.com does that for the detail and subdetail url's) WG++ switches from the useragent value in the config file to WebGrab+Plus as value. This is done as courtesy to vale the dissallow by identifying us as grabber. The site can then decide to - let it gao - respond with some 'forbidden' (as is done here) - or block the grabbers IP. That's why.
In general we discourage the grabbing of sites that use the robots exclusion to notify a disallow. In this case, we can only recomment to use schedulesdirect as a legal alternative http://webgrabplus.com/sites/default/files/download/ini/info/zip/Interna...

Thank you
