Synology NAS

Hi,
found this wonderful piece of software. Unfortunately I get an error. Called with

#!/bin/sh
cd /volume1/homes/wg
mono WebGrab+Plus.exe "($pwd)"

Any help is appreciated.

Is the support helpful?
support us

Configuration seems ok.
Maybe give the full path during the call of WG++

mono WebGrab+Plus.exe "/volume1/homes/wg"

Check also the mono version installed (mono -v)
What is the distro that is running on that NAS?

If this still is not working, could you give another try with the latest beta version? Config file reading has been changed so hopefully this error has been fixed since.
Also check if WG++ sees the config file. Just rename it and check that in the logging an error is seen that the config file is not found, Just to be sure

Congratulations! You got it up and running. That's a major milestone :-) Everything else is related to WebGrab configuration stuff. This should be answered by Francis.
Only one hint: Try stripping down to one channel only. This help me figuring out the proper TV source and my configuration.

Trying to run WG++ on my Synology but I cannot take the first hurdle:

I installed mono from the feed of Synology Community.

However when I check with mono -V

I get this:

mono -V
-sh: mono: command not found

I am lost at the moment.

In the package centre, mono is indeicated as installed and activated.

Found it:

/usr/local/mono/bin/mono

Is it possible to add this to the installation instruction?

Hi, I use a different path where mono is installed: /volume1/@appstore/mono/bin/mono (v3.10.0-4). I just checked and saw at https://synocommunity.com/ v4.6.2.7-8 is available - may be they changes path location in new version.

I have a Synology DS416j with a Marvell Armada processor Dual core.

As a NAS this performs very well.  If you want to run WG++ on this, it is slow.  Although the machine is on all the time.  So who cares if it takes a bit longer.

Of course if you have a machine with a faster processor, things would go faster.

The DS416j has 4 bays.  At themoment I have 3  - 4 TB discs in them, running on Synolgy RAID.  This is een hybrid RAID system.  It can tolerate a one disk failure without data loss.  I still have room to add a fourth disc to it.  And this does not have to be the same size.  So if I need more space the option is there to add a 8 TB disc.  All drive are Seagate NAS drives.

I can recommend the use of a NAS.  Provided you can connect everything (except maybe your laptop and tablet) with a gigabit network.  I find myself storing more and more on the NAS, instead of the internal drive of the PC.  And of course the stuff is then reacheable by every device which has access to your NAS.  Even via the internet if you want it.  (I have not enabled this - because once you enable this, you better have a very good firewall istalled)

On Synmology all their apps and plug-ins are free to downmload and install.  You also get updates for the DSM (the NAS software).  The software is Linux based.

Of course a NAS is not cheap.

Realize that you still have to buy the drives separately.  Also for the machine you found.
