Hi Matt,
Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you that this seems to be an IP banned.
My server is located in France (ROubaix). It's Virtual Private Server from OVH.
Hi Pipo, if you have chance to try another ip it will be good. Nowdays there are two type of bans, based on speed and time. More clearly as an example:
1. "Time" after X requests, prolonged in time, you get banned. Server avoid persistent request banning the requestor ip.
2. "Speed" if too many request in a short period of time your ip is banned.
To solve above it's good to grab a short period (3-4 days) slowing down the time with retry delay (see documentation) and mix channel with other sites.
Same issue for me : error 403 for each canalplus.com channel.
My retry settings are :
'retry channel-delay="5" index-delay="1" show-delay="1" time-out="10 "' 3 '/retry'
What would you recommend?

My ip is static, I can't change.
Thanks.
Only thing you can is wait they remove the ban and increase delay or try with vpn
Hello,
It's long but it seems to work!
Thank you very much.
What means "!" in the mode ?
FYI I have used the c1/c2 method to get the updated channels and it seems that something has changed.
In the countries, now we have :
'site_id="fr##fr" xmltv_id="France métropolitaine"
and when I use this new country name in the c2 request, now the site_ids look like: site_id="fr##fr##546##26"
In the current ini, we have site_id="fr##fr##26"
I don't know if it's important...
Hello,
Oh I understand, the topic of the thread is about canalsat. I wasn't aware that this grabber still works.
Yes indeed all I was saying is about canalplus.com, sorry.
Both canalsat and canalplus stopped working on both my Windows PCs. I note that canalsat redirects to canalplus so essentially the same epg data. I checked .Net version (4.8 and all lower installed) and IP blocking from UK by using a VPN with an endpoint in France. Edge browser and c# test program both connected successfully from French and UK IP addresses but Webgrab++ 5.1 failed with "403 forbidden".
I looked at my config file, unchanged since June 2023. I compared it with the latest example config and observed that the user agent string had changed to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/79.0.3945.130 Safari/537.36 Edg/79.0.309.71
I updated my config file with the new user agent string and all worked. I assume that canalsat / canalplus have changed their list of acceptable http user agents. So always check the user agent string to make sure it is up to date!
Hi Matt,
How are you doing ? SOrry for my late answer and thanks for the feedback.
As requested, find below the Webgrab logs file.
Regards,
This is a problem of accessing the site. Probably ip banned or dns issue. Where is your server located ?
